Walking the England Coast Path at sixty
A personal chronicle of steep cliffs, sore knees, muddy paths, and unforgettable moments along the coast. Because sometimes, the best things really do happen on a walk.
One step at a time
I am sixty years old, far from athletic, and taking on the magnificent 2,700-mile King Charles III England Coast Path. I am walking the path in small sections and on my days off. I will share with you how I found the walk, people and experiences along the way and my campinion who I have managed to persuade to walk with me.
Along the trail, every day brings changing terrain, unpredictable weather, and genuine hospitality. My favourite walks lead to a beer garden, cafe or resturant. It is the people and stories that make every mile worth while and the fun we have along the way.
Trail dispatches and stories
Catch up on my latest days on the path. Here I share honest field notes on challenging climbs, seaside pubs, blisters, wildlife sightings, and the wonderful companions met along the way.
Every mile tells a story
Whether you are planning your own coastal walk or simply fancy following along from the comfort of an armchair with a hot brew, thank you for joining me on this journey.
